Ouragami

Ouragami creates products made of scientifically engineered material called nano mineral technology, which makes them UV protective, anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic, and even water-repellent. This advanced material is used across the company’s products, though the original and most iconic is the Identity baseball cap. Inspired and designed by a cancer survivor, these products were created with healing and hope in mind for all.

Story of 1000 Cranes

I was tasked with designing packaging for a unique offering inspired by the legend of 1000 cranes. In the Japanese tradition, folding 1000 origami cranes can be used as a form of prayer for recovery to someone who is ill, for luck, or to grant a wish. This symbol of hope is something the company also strives to provide through its products and the experience consumers have when they receive their orders. I exhausted many options and countless iterations until I arrived at the solution you see here. Inspired by the folds that make an origami crane, this package uses minimal adhesive. Once the top is removed, the sides slowly begin to unfold, like paper petals, and the beautifully bright paper crane emerges.
